Annual Scholarships and Bursaries

At the Ottawa School of Speech & Drama, we believe deeply in our motto Get into the Act! Talented students should not have to see their potential languish because of financial limitations. The cost of a drama education goes far beyond tuition.  Drama students who take the plunge to dedicate themselves to their education often have to make great personal and financial sacrifices. There are many students for which this is a hard reality. The Ottawa School of Speech & Drama has had many generous supporters throughout its 20-year history who have committed to helping students achieve their potential. Through our Scholarships and Bursaries Program, you can become one of those valuable supporters.

Support students today
An annual scholarship or bursary allows you to positively affect the life of a student. A gift is made to the Ottawa School of Speech & Drama on an annual basis and the entire amount is awarded to one or more student in that academic year. A minimum 3-year commitment is required for a named Scholarship or Bursary. One-time donations will be directed toward OSSD’s general Scholarship or Bursary fund.

Following this process, the Scholarship and Awards Committee reviews the audition results and awards scholarship funds on the basis of merit. Scholarship monies are used exclusively toward tuition costs. Bursaries are awarded on the basis of financial need and, in the Adult and Children & Youth Programs do not require a presentation or interview.
