MUSICAL THEATRE (8-10, 11-13, 13+ years)

A “Triple Threat” actor can dance, sing and act all at the same time! OSSD's Musical Theatre program helps to develop all of these skills. Students learn how to tell a story through words, movement and song. Training focuses on acting, singing, dancing and working chorally as a group. Specific musicals, or musical theatre themes, are selected based on the needs of the students. Students work toward final workshop presentations.

SINGING FOR ACTORS (11–13 years)

The ability to sing is something everyone is born with. Knowing how to work with your voice is something you need to train. Group singing will strengthen your ear for harmonies, and individual tutorials will work on specific skills.

MUSICAL THEATRE STUDIO (12+ years)

The Musical Theatre Studio Course is a unique blend of training and performance. Small class sizes allow for students with previous experience to develop their skills in acting, singing and dance. Each year, a musical is selected to be performed in a concert version that focuses on developing and showcasing the individual strengths of each performer. With minimal sets and costumes, the emphasis is on the actor. A final production takes place in the spring.
Musical Theatre Studio Companies are directed by Natalie Fraser Purdy and Emmanuelle Zeesman. Theresa Cillis O’Meara is the musical director.

Entrance is by audition, to be held in August. Please contact the office for details.
