THE OTTAWA SCHOOL OF SPEECH & DRAMA (OSSD)
and
THE OTTAWA THEATRE SCHOOL (OTS)
Creating theatre in Ottawa.
Since 1988, Ottawa School of Speech and Drama (OSSD) has carved out a unique place for itself in the Ottawa arts community. It has become a creative hub for dynamic theatre artists to work with students of all ages and backgrounds.
OSSD was founded on the belief that all people can benefit from arts education and drama training. Drama education gives people an opportunity to develop self-confidence, to think laterally, and to become creative problem solvers. It makes people physically active, improves literacy and helps people to better articulate their thoughts and emotions. Through theatrical experiences, our students develop a sense of community, collaboration and empathy.
The school also houses the OTTAWA THEATRE SCHOOL (OTS). The OTS Program is an intensive, three-year program for post secondary students interested in a professional career in acting. The Ottawa Theatre School (OTS) is registered as a private career college under the Private Career Colleges Act 2005. Upon completion of the program students receive a diploma.
Actors, dancers find a place at OSSD where they can share their passion for their craft with the generation of tomorrow, while still pursuing a career in the field. For a complete list of our instructors, please click here.
