Discover Drama (ages 5 - 7)

Discover Drama is a great way to express your self, gain confidence and learn new skills. And the best thing – is learning has never been this fun. The kids will do improvisation, storytelling, role-playing, creative movement and theatre crafts with two of our favourite instructors. The week culminates in an open class where you get to experience some of your kids favourite exercises and they can show off the skills they learned over the week.

From Page to Stage (ages 8 - 11)

After being part in the Stratford Festival company for 5 seasons – OSSD alumnus Sarah McVie is back home. And this March Break, she will guide your young thespians on a journey to bring the written play to life. Sarah will guide you on how to bring words to life, how to play a scene and even what you should do on stage when you are not speaking. Take the play from the Page to the Stage with one of OSSD's most notable alumni. The week ends in a staged performance at OSSD studio.

Circus Skills, Clowning Around (ages 9 - 12)

Run away to the circus! In this exciting workshop with one of Ottawa's Cowguys – OSSD's own Nick Miller, campers create their own special clown character and learn circus arts talents. There will be juggling, miming, improvisation and fun galore. The week ends with a rollicking "cirque du soliel" type production. Red noses are included.

All Singing, All Dancing (ages 9 - 12)

Broadway comes to Picton Ave in this high-energy singing and dancing workshop. Learn big showstopper numbers, learn to harmonize and work as a team to make a great ensemble. You'll learn different styles of songs and dances and scenes from a variety of musicals. And by the end of the week, there is an open class where the kids get to show off the skills and songs that they have worked on during the week!

General Registration Information

  • Students should wear comfortable clothing and bring indoor shoes.
  • Bring a lunch and snacks - please no nuts. OSSD is a nut free zone.
  • Students requiring before and after care must register for this at the time of registration for the course.
  • Before care is from 8:15 - 9:00 a.m.
  • After care is from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
  • Cost for before & after care is $40.00 for the week.
  • No refunds are given without a written request one week before the course begins. A $25 administration fee will be deducted. After the start of a course, refunds will not be given. If unable to continue due to illness, the fee will be held over to a following semester upon receipt of a medical letter.
  • OSSD reserves the right to cancel a course due to insufficient enrollment. In the event of a cancellation, registrants will be notified one week prior to the start date and will receive a full refund.

*Before and After Care:

To facilitate working schedules, we offer before and after care. Children are supervised in an open play situation. Reservations are required.

Early Drop off: 8:15 Late Pick up: 5:00p.m. (prompt)

A fee of $35.00 for the week is due at time of registration
