You have the ability to positively shape a young life. Whether as a parent, a teacher, a student or an audience member, you have seen the transformative effect that drama has. I have had the privilege to be part of an incredible number of “Ah-ha” moments, when a student discovers a whole new world view and becomes a more intellectually complex and engaged person.
Young people who dream and learn to realize those dreams are tomorrow’s leaders. The Ottawa School of Speech & Drama gives them the tools to dream big – articulation, confidence, expression! We work with a team of actors, directors, musicians, choreographers, writers, theatre technicians and designers to provide the best possible instruction and facilities for children, youth and adults to thrive creatively. We would like to invite you to play a part in those dreams.
OSSD offers stimulating after-school and weekend programming for kids and adults with active imaginations. The school is also a leader in the training of professional actors in the Ottawa region. Our Pre-Professional Program packs in two years’ worth of high-quality, intense studio time, and our grads are making an impact on Ottawa’s exciting arts scene.
OSSD is a unique and important artistic and educational institution, with a track record of almost 20 years of excellence and achievement that everyone can take pride in. Celebrated Alumni such as James Richardson of Third Wall Theatre and Canadian Idol finalist Steffi D join other graduates as actors, directors, and teachers in companies across the Ottawa region and beyond.
