GREAT CANADIAN THEATRE COMPANY
The Great Canadian Theatre Company (GCTC) was founded and incorporated in 1975 by professors and students at Ottawa's Carleton University to produce Canadian plays.
Mandate "To foster, produce and promote excellent theatre that provokes examination of Canadian life and our place in the world."
GCTC is incorporated as a non-profit organization with charitable status.
THE NATIONAL ARTS CENTRE (NAC)
The National Arts Centre (NAC) raised its curtains for the first time in 1969. Created by the Parliament of Canada as a Centennial project during the 1960s, the NAC has become Canada's foremost showcase for the performing arts.
Today, the NAC works with countless artists, both emerging and established, from across Canada and around the world, and collaborates with scores of other arts organizations across the country.
The NAC is strongly committed to being a leader and innovator in each of the performing arts fields in which it works - classical music, English theatre, French theatre, dance, variety, and community programming. It is at the forefront of youth and educational activities, Support programmes for young and emerging artists and programmes for young audiences, and producing resources and study materials for teachers.
The NAC is the only multidisciplinary, bilingual performing arts centre in North America, and one of the largest in the world.
THIRD WALL THEATRE CO.
The mandate of Third Wall Theatre Co. is to present the well-known stories of the world repertory, shaped by imagination and told without pretention. We strive to produce a wide variety of plays, from ancient comedies to modern classics, all linked by the common thread of greatness.
As a company, we also maintain a firm vision for expansion, and aim to move from semi-professional to fully professional status within the next few years. In the long term, we hope to eventually move into our own theatre space, and become a major part of Ottawa's professional theatre community.
We are supportive of all the arts in Ottawa, and believe that in order to foster a positive environment for cultural growth in the city, artists and companies must work together for mutual gains.
Ottawa International Children’s Festival
Every year, the Ottawa International Children’s Festival holds a five-day extravaganza of the finest quality theatre, dance and music for young audiences in our community. We create programs for children of all ages focused on enriching school curriculum and promoting the arts as an integral part of children's development. We have hosted performers from Brazil, Kenya, Peru, Holland, France, England, Germany, Denmark and Korea, as well as artists from across Canada.

St. LAWRENCE SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL
The St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival seeks to achieve the highest possible standards of artistic excellence by producing professional productions in magnificent natural surroundings, while encouraging the greatest possible level of community involvement. It aspires to provide a creative summer home for artists with a passion for the classics and the talent to speak to audiences in such a way that their quality of life is enriched and their understanding of the human condition enhanced.
NEW THEATRE OF OTTAWA
The mandate of New Theatre of Ottawa is to produce plays from the contemporary repertoire, particularly plays or forms of theatre demanding a specific site or location.
Secondarily, the New Theatre is committed to instruction and training in the arts, as well as raising the aesthetic taste and artistic appreciation of the public, through the medium of public performances or exhibitions.
